BLAZESTOP

HOME FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM

FOR ALL HOMES

BLAZESTOP is an affordable home fire sprinkler system suitable for new, existing, additions, and alterations (especially for homes built within rural zones).

Home fire sprinkler systems are designed to provide sufficient time (of at least 10 mins) for residents to exit the house in the event of a fire.

The Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) strongly encourage and recommend the installation of home fire sprinkler system to provide maximum protection for life and property especially if the home is located more than 10 minutes of response time from a fire station.

KEY BENEFITS

  • DESIGN - BLAZESTOP Home Fire Sprinklers are designed to meet New Zealand Standard NZS 4517:2010 Fire Sprinkler Systems for Houses and comply with New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) Clause G12 water supplies and acceptable solution C/AS1.

  • UNOBTRUSIVE - Designed specifically for the home environment. Concealed fire sprinkler heads are set into the ceiling with only the cover plate visible.

  • QUIET - BLAZESTOP Home Fire Sprinklers have none of the water-related noises and water hammers associated with metal systems.

  • ROBUST PIPING SYSTEMS - BLAZESTOP piping system is manufactured with a strict quality management system and certified to carry the WaterMark License. The polybutylene pipe and fittings are manufactured to the AS/NZS 2642 Standard and the multi-layer piping system is manufactured to the AS 4176 Standard.

  • INDIVIDUAL ROOM RESPONSE - BLAZESTOP Home Fire Sprinkler System is triggered by heat, not smoke, and doesn't rely on electricity (unless it is a tank pump system). If the temperature in a room indicates fire, the fire sprinkler in that room activates automatically.

  • DOUSES FIRES FAST, MINIMISES WATER DAMAGE - By containing and controlling a fire in a single room, usually within 3-5 minutes, there’s less fire and water damage. Fire sprinklers use 40 to 80 litres a minute, compared to 700 litres a minute used by the Fire Service.

  • EASY TO INSTALL - Light and flexible making it easy and cost-effective to install, even in hard-to-reach areas. BLAZESTOP fittings don’t need a flame or heat-based joining methods so they’re much safer to work with, especially in restricted places.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

  • WATER SUPPLY

BLAZESTOP Fire Sprinkler System can be connected to either a local authority domestic water connection (water main) or to a storage tank and pump system.

  • LOCATION

The maximum spacing between sprinklers within a room depends on the type of sprinkler head you choose; the minimum spacing is 2400mm. Light fittings, beams or lintels that may obstruct the spray pattern need to be taken into account.

  • POST-COMMISSIONING CARE

After the system has been commissioned, the homeowner must check the water pressure as displayed on the pressure gauge located in the control box (at least once a year) to ensure water pressure required to activate the system in the event of a fire is equal or higher than the commissioning test pressure.
